We don't always get written feedback but here are some examples of what people sent us.
Many thanks again for providing another fantastic night for us on New Years Eve. I also think it was even better than last year and we certainly had more people swinging their partners!
Just coming down to earth again.....it was a lovely night for us, and thankyou so much for helping make it fun. Its not easy dancing in a big marshmallow, but I gave it a go....could have been a lot worse !! :D Could have ended up in A & E !!! It got funnier and funnier the more alchohol was consumed and some of our families definitely don't know their left from their right.....but heyyyyyy....:D
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the other young men in the band for helping us bring in our first New Year at The King's Arms Hotel in Reeth. The dancing outside on the cobbles at midnight certainly had everybody in high spirits and was the height of converstaion the following day. We are now planning the rest of this year so hope that we can get together again soon for another knees up! Please pass on our thanks to everyone.
Dear Terry (& T'Owd Lads),
Thanks ever so much to you and your merry band of minstrels for your usual excellence excellence last Saturday night. A wonderful time was had by all but you would have thought that after five annual ceilidhs we should have been getting the knack of it all by now. Not a bit of it; most people, myself included, appear to forget what to do during the dance, so remembering it year on year would seem to be impossible aspiration. How you all adapt to our inadequacies, and how Nigel puts up with people who appear to have only a very slight grasp on telling their right from their left, and how you all do it with such good humour, astonishes me.
We hope to repeat the ceilidh next year,(it will be my 60th birthday), and hope you will be able to oblige us.
Thank you once again for a really excellent and memorable evening.
Thank you so much for playing beautifully on the day ( at the West Retford Hotel) with the violin and the other various instruments - you are very talented. A lot of people commented on how fabulous you were. And you played 'Here comes the bride' by violin beautifully. thank you for this, it was perfect. We had an amazing day and I do miss it very much. we are planning to have our wedding anniversary party at the West Retford Hotel on Saturday 28 July 2012 from the afternoon through to the evening and it be wonderful if you would be available.
Medieval themed Wedding, Lincoln
Many thanks to you and the boys too! it was a pleasure having you play at our wedding and we will definatly recommend you to anyone looking for some fun and fantastic entertainment.
Wedding Ceilidh, Hartington Hall,
Dear Terry & Co.,
Thanks so much for helping us have such a wonderful wedding- it wouldn't have been the same without you! We thought the band did a brilliant job.... the dances were great fun and worked really well, even in such a small space. The music was excellent and loads of guests commented on what a good idea the ceilidh was. There also seemed to be a fair bit of fascination with the hurdy-gurdy. What a fantastic instrument!
We're setting up a photo website so people can look at the wedding pictures and I will paste your details on there. That way they can be accessed by anybody that wants them.
Thanks once again for such a fabulous evening. If you want to put any of these comments on your website you are more than welcome- we are very satisfied customers!!!
All the best,
Summer Ceilidh, Tapton,
Dear Terry o' t'Owd Lads,
Well, I am not sure if it was the weather, (excellent), the food and drink, (excellent), or your (excellent as usual), playing and calling, but the feedback from this ceilidh has been even more positive than normal, and it always been excellent in the past.
Everybody seemed to have an excellent time, and I thank you once again for the fabulous time we had last Saturday night.
Wedding Ceilidh, Kettlewell, Just wanted to say a massive thank you for making our wedding so special. Everyone has said how much they enjoyed it.
Sailing Wedding, Bridlington,
Dear Terry and T'Owd Lads,
Thanks very much for a fantastic evening when you played for us at our wedding. Many of our guests have passed comment on what a fun event it was. We would have no hesitation in recommending you and hope to hear you play again.
Military Wedding ceilidh, Wensley,
Dear Terry, A belated "Thank you and the Lads" for playing at my daughter's wedding - Wensley 26th July - and helping to make it such a very enjoyable occasion.
30th Anniversary Ceilidh, Tapton,
Most, but not all, of our guests have departed back to whence they came;
Anyway, you, and your merry band of minstrels, were, as ever, most excellent, and my wife is busy looking through next years diary to pencil in a few possible dates.
Looks like this might be an annual event, everybody enjoyed the ceilidh, everybody wants to come back next year, everybody wants Paraffin Ceilidhs to "officiate".
So that is that then, except that the brother of one of the girls that works for me is getting married and was at our ceilidh. She is working on her mum & dad right now to try to get you a booking. Mum & dad aren't quite so sure, they always believed their daughter had two left feet and can't come to terms with their daughter being so enthused about a dance!
So, again, thank you ever so much for a wonderful time and the strenuous effort that you all put in to make our 30th Wedding Anniversary so memorable.
Your caller has the patience of a Saint!!
Hull City Hall,
I had to write to thank you for the energetic and entertaining music you provided for our wedding. I was choked up walking down the aisle to the (piano) piece you played specially at my request and every guest smiled all evening through our lively barn dance. It was so much fun and got everybody feeling included. Thank you.
RAF Wittering Burns Supper,
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for Friday night. I know everyone had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I hope everything was to your satisfaction.
Especially big thank you for your patience as some of the dancers (primarily me!) were a bit slower at picking up the routines than others!
Many thanks again.
Scottish Wedding, Tapton,
It is 8.30pm on Sunday evening, and the last guest has just decided to go home!!
A huge amount of food and drink was consumed, but the only thing people have talked about was "The Ceilidh"; everybody, just everybody, thought it was just brilliant.
We all thought you were marvellous, and cannot thank you enough. Personally, I had a wonderful time, but today I feel like I have been tossed by a bull; which is an occupational hazard that I have experienced more than once. I have got aching muscles where I didn't know I had muscles.
Rest assured we shall recommend you to everybody with even the slightest interest in this kind of celebration; we cannot thank you enough for making our party go with such a swing.
Wishing you all the best for now and the future, and we hope to see you again soon.
Wedding Ceilidh, Bagden Hall,
We'd just like to offer our thanks for the fantastic
performance at our wedding on Saturday night. For you
to come at such short notice was great and we know
that everybody really enjoyed the dance - even if the
majority of people were rubbish at it!! ha ha
Many, many thanks
Irish Ceilidh, Guildhall, York,
Thank you so much for last night, you were all wonderful & it was much appreciated. Reports back have been very favourable from those who attended (& naturally the organisers).
Based on your performance we would be grateful if you would do us the honour of coming on March 17th 2008
Bikers Rally Ceilidh, Gisburn,
Terry, The feedback from the majority was that the whole weekend was a success, and the dancing in particular. You all worked hard! Thankyou. I will keep you on my list for the future.
Birthday Barn Dance, Armthorpe,
We had a great night on Saturday and I have had cards and messages saying thank you and how much they enjoyed the evening. So a big thank you to you all especially as I think you seemed to make the dances fit the age group. I shall certainly keep your details in my address book for the future.
Our son-in-law, the American guy, has said he would like to have a Barn Dance at the Ranch where he and our daughter were married in California to celebrate their wedding anniversary what rate of mileage would that incurr.
Anniversary Ceilidh, Doncaster,
It was a super evening, thank you very much for your contribution it really made the party!
Wedding Ceilidh, Scissett,
hope to see you again soon
Wedding Ceilidh, I was really worried until you helped us organise our dance.
Anniversary Ceilidh, We loved the music. I've now booked (our wedding) and would love to have Paraffin Ceilidhs lead us in a barn dance on the day!
Anniversary Barn Dance, Nottingham, ; "We were going to have a holiday to celebrate our anniversary but we decided to have a party and a barn dance instead. It has been a really good night."
Birthday Barn Dance, Rotherham; "It was exactly what we wanted."
Many thanks to you and your splendid team at last nights Ceilidh.
Feedback is very positive. Everyone enjoyed the live music, the atmosphere, some dancing, some watching. Sorry I didn't get a chance to speak to you personally before you left last night. I think I had my head stuck in a big mushy pea pan, cleaning it out.
Hope to do a repeat performance next year.
Burns Supper RAF Cranwell
Thank you so much for the dancing. The feedback I'm getting is that everyone really enjoyed the evening especially the dancing - so well done.
I will make sure your details are saved.
Please thank the band for me and hope to see you again soon.
